What to expect at your first visit
On your first visit to our office, Dr. Bunker will perform a diagnostic hearing evaluation which can include any of the following:
- Otoscopy to identify any occulsions or middle ear pathology in your external auditory canal.
- Puretone air and bone conduction testing – standard hearing test where you listen and respond to soft “beeps”.
- Speech testing to assess your word understanding at a comfortable and appropriate level for your hearing loss.
- Tympanometry to evaluate your middle ear status.
- OAE (Otoacoustic emission) testing to evaluate outer hair cell function.
- Acoustic Reflexes to assess your stapedial reflex.
- Acoustic Decay
Following your evaluation, Dr. Bunker will go over your results and offer recommendations.
